Utah Real Estate Whoas

Whoas?  Shouldn't that be 'Woes'.  Statistics published in the papers keep hammering home that foreclosure rates are higher (Utah currently ranking 6th in the nation) and thats not good news at all.  However, one well-know downtown Salt Lake City real estate broker was on the news last week saying that she's so busy that she doesn't forsee a day off in the next 7-months.  That caused me to think 'whoa!'.  I've heard many other Realtors complain about their business being slow in 2011, mirroring the economy.  However, I've listened to just as many say they are having one of the best years they have ever had in real estate.  Low interest rates are keeping the purchases moving for folks who have a steady income and reasonalbe credit scores.  Sellers who lead the market down and offer more in the property than what the next home has (ie a few percentages lower than the competition down the street), sell property quickly, those who don't follow the market down and ultimately get less for the property.  We've  sold every new move-in-ready home we built in Utah (Saratoga Springs, Bluffdale, Cottonwood Heights) this year.  We've beat the averages (small builders) and feel we've bucked the trends because we offer more for the money.  Our upgrades make our move-in-ready or semi-custom homes more appealing to folks looking to buy a new home over a stripped out production/tract model or a bank foreclosure (where new cheap carpet and some paint can cover up years of abuse).  Check out our move-in-ready homes in Utah!
